The Buzz: A "re-imagining" of the classic 2002 platforming shooter, remade from the ground up with updated gameplay mechanics to compliment what is one of the most acclaimed games of its genre from the PS2 era. Why It Might Be The Killer App: Because Insomniac Games are doing their best to distance this new Ratchet and Clank from the "remake" label, instead touting it as a singular experience which will build on the previous version. As such, expect it to stand tall on its own while retaining the excellent visual style, smooth controls and fluid gameplay of the original game. Why It Might Not Be: The fact that it's clearly a remake definitely holds it back somewhat, as well as the original game having been re-released in HD upscaled form just three years ago. It will be up to Insomniac Games to convince gamers that it's different enough to be worth the day one price tag.
