Naughty Dog were always going to have a tough time with Uncharted 4. Not only was it the hotly anticipated culmination of one of gaming's most celebrated stories, but it was also the developer's next new game after The Last of Us, an undeniably hard act to follow. With rumblings of trouble behind the scenes, it looked like there was a possibility the fabled developer would drop the ball for Nathan Drake's last adventure.

They didn't. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is a great example of games as an art form - it's a gripping story from beginning to end, featuring some of the best voice acting, motion capture and writing in the industry. The game easily lives up to the legacy left by its predecessors and is a fitting end to the tale of one of PlayStation's most beloved mascots.

The story takes Drake out of retirement and throws him back into the mix when his brother, Sam, mysteriously shows up out of nowhere. Nolan North and Troy Baker give the performances of their lives, and the game retains the usual Uncharted charm that helped make the series so popular.
