11 Video Games You Won’t Believe Are In Development
9. Splinter Cell
From one weird Ubisoft announcement to another, after years and years of waiting for an announcement of any kind, it was recently confirmed that a new Splinter Cell game is in development.
However, there was no hugely-anticipated reveal at E3, no night-vision goggles descending on screen, no Michael Ironside walking on stage; just a boring old text announcement on Ubisoft's website.
Alongside a Q&A with the developers, Ubisoft announced last December that they've greenlit a full remake of Splinter Cell, set to use their brand new updated Snowdrop engine.
While any Splinter Cell is welcome at this point, it being a remake has left many fans scratching their heads. After so many years out of the spotlight, a remake rather than a new game implies a lack of confidence in the brand.
Throw this alongside rumours that Ubisoft have only greenlit it to get back in the good graces of fans after a tumultuous couple of years, and it doesn't feel like the spectacular return many were hoping for.
