First Announced: The crossover beat 'em up was confirmed at 2010's San Diego Comic-Con (24 July 2010).

The first game in this series, Street Fighter X Tekken, was announced at the same time as this variation and eventually came out in March 2012, using the Street Fighter engine.

This follow-up, flipping the script by using the Tekken engine, is safely nestled in development hell, most likely due to its Street Fighter-themed predecessor selling just 40% of its projected units over its first two months on release.

By early 2016, the game was deemed on hold, even though the core gameplay systems had been fully assembled. According to producer Katsuhiro Harada, this was in order to avoid splitting the fan communities of both games... whatever that means.

With Tekken 7 selling well last year, it's likely that Bandai Namco Studios has effectively shelved the project and moved on to focus on Tekken 8. The studio could quietly dump it digitally sometime in the future, but the previous crossover game bombing in sales probably doesn't encourage them to do much with it.
