12 Announced Video Games That Are Never Coming Out

Capybara Games

First Announced: Though the adventure game had been in development for several years prior, it was first revealed to the public during Microsoft's 2013 E3 conference (10 June 2013).

Below turned a lot of heads when it was first unveiled, distinguished for its atmospheric visuals and focus on challenging difficulty, namely the inclusion of permanent death.

However, developer Capybara Games stopped working on Below during 2016 to make OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes, which was released late last month. It's fair to assume that development has probably resumed on Below since, but it's also possible that they'll return to the project and ultimately figure it's just not worth it, especially if they've already been tempted away to tackle more commercial side-projects.

It would be devastating for fans if the game was canned considering that it's apparently close to being content-complete, but don't be surprised if Microsoft Studios ultimately grows impatient waiting and decides it's more trouble than it's worth.
