12 Best Video Game Comebacks Of All Time
2. Batman - Batman: Arkham Asylum
Evidence that licensed content doesn't have to be moist garbage. Upon announcement, Arkham Asylum had most of us quick to cast aside Rocksteady's effort to bring the caped crusader to console. We were within our rights to be sceptical though, considering the unfortunate history that the world's greatest detective had had up until that point.
How wrong we all were. Arkham Asylum was everything you could dream of in a Batman game. This was the closest any of us would ever get to actually donning the cowl ourselves (public service announcement: please don't go out and try and fight crime in real life, you will very die).
All of Bat's gadgets were cool as hell and felt incredibly satisfying to use. The stealth and detective mechanics rarely made you feel like the clumsy dork you actually were in real life. And, finally, the combat was second to none, with every blow feeling incredibly hefty. The combat was so good that it's been pretty much pasted onto a number of other games.
Chuck on top a solid story, a whole rogue's gallery of notable Batman nemeses and a stellar cast - led by Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill - and goddamn do you have a hell of a game.
