12 Fantastic Video Games You Must Play Over Summer 2015

12. Rocket League

Believe the hype, ladies and gents; Rocket League is one of 'those games' that arrives only every half a year or so. They always come out of nowhere, rise to "Dude, have you played this?!"-heights almost overnight, and then continue to snowball their way into the history books across the following months. Conceptually it boils down to 'football with cars', but it's when you finally get hands-on with Psyonix's gorgeous little racer that you'll start to feel an overwhelming sensation of fun. Just pure, unabashed, unrestrained fun. Picture it, you blast out your starting position and leap into the air, a powdered rocket boost catapulting you towards the ball. Then, bashing off the competition you angle your customisable ride and propel it into the top corner as the crowd erupts all around. It's safe to say, gaming rarely feels this good. In a world where publishers are trying to bleed consumers dry with segmented content and you're lucky to get something that actually works on launch day, Rocket League is a shining example of a studio that just wanted to create something the whole world could then get stuck into - the end results and sales speaking for themselves.
