12 Gaming Predictions For 2020 (Now E3 Isn't Happening)

Ever since Valve's hugely anticipated VR prequel Half-Life: Alyx was announced, fans have been questioning whether or not the game might end with some sort of a tease for Half-Life 3.

But given the propensity for gameplay to leak from early copies, we're going to assume that Valve wouldn't take such a chance and risk having their huge moment blown.

Plus, there's always the possibility they were planning to announce Half-Life 3 for a multi-platform release on the biggest stage in gaming at E3, no?

Even if that were the case, it's clearly not happening now, and while it's surely too late for Valve to include any sort of last-minute tease for Half-Life 3 in Alyx before it ships imminently, don't be surprised if Valve suddenly patches in a Half-Life 3 teaser sometime this year.

After all, Valve did the very same thing with Portal many years ago, randomly updating the original game's ending to imply the announcement of a sequel, which was formally confirmed a few days later.

There's a precedent here, so if Alyx doesn't end with a direct Half-Life 3 setup, don't panic: it could still be coming.
