The already-devastating effect the coronavirus has had on global events is undeniable, and it's been suggested that it's also impacted the manufacturing run of next-gen console components.

Given that we have yet to catch our first glimpse of the PS5 despite a speculated November release, it's looking increasingly probable that a curiously radio-silent Sony will eventually delay their new console into Q1 2021 - most likely March.

It's entirely possible that Sony is simply holding their breath to see what Microsoft does first, but given that they still have several major AAA releases to come for the PS4, it wouldn't be remotely shocking for Sony to push their reveal event into June or even July.

Given that the PS4 was formally revealed 9 months before release, this timeline would fit perfectly for a March 2021 drop.
