12 Most Hotly Anticipated Video Games You'll Need To Play In 2016

4. Mass Effect: Andromeda

Hard though it may be to accept, the original Mass Effect trilogy story arc is over and it's time to move on. For all the ire that's been directed at them, you have to give BioWare credit for being prepared to have ended things in the explosive fashion that they did, and starting afresh for the current generation rather than milking the characters that we became so attached to in the last generation. We don't know a whole lot about Andromeda, other than that it's taking place in the Andromeda Galaxy, that players will be able to drive the Mako buggy around a desert landscape (and presumably many other landscapes on the various planets they visit). There will also be destructible environments, squad-based gameplay, and of course an entirely new ship with which to traverse the galaxy. Andromeda is exciting as a title not only in itself, but because it will most likely be the start of a seamless BioWare narrative in which our decisions will have a continuous impact on events across several games - a space-faring RPG adventure that we'll be on for several years. Some argue that the BioWare storytelling formula was showing signs of going stale with Dragon Age: Inquisition, but Andromeda is a great opportunity to refresh it, refine it, and take it to new heights.
