12 Nintendo Franchises That Could Be Adapted Into Movies

10. Wario

Everyone's favourite Nintendo anti-hero (or just plain villain, depending on your perspective) would be perfect for an era in which "good guys" are considered boring and one-dimensional and "bad guys" are in. Wario is recognisable enough to carry his own film, dark enough to make it interesting, and funny enough to attract wider audiences. Admittedly, it's unlikely that Nintendo would create a film about the villainous version of Mario (or, indeed, Luigi's photographic negative Waluigi) without first releasing a new film about the more famous "good guy". Still, one can dream. Wario is a much more interesting and morally ambiguous character than his ever-popular nemesis. Let's hope that Nintendo agree. He's certainly had the publicity after his appearances in multiple smash hit Wii games over the years. Casting Suggestion: If Wario is going head to head with De Niro/Pacino, someone with comparable acting chops has to be in charge of the role. Daniel Day-Lewis would be a decent option, and he can do menacing better than most. Stallone actually looks an awful lot like a clean-shaven Wario, so he may be a safer bet. Likelihood: 6/10 Desirability: 7/10
