6. Emulators. Emulators Everywhere
As a thrifty gamer; you probably never bought a Nintendo DS because you couldn't justify the expense for a few Pokémon titles, Super Mario and the odd worthwhile third party entry - that doesn't mean you don't want to play them though!
Instead of spending anything at all, not a single penny, you booted your PC and googled 'DS Emulators'. You downloaded the first one you found, installed it and set about collecting every ROM you could ever have wanted.
Why stop at the DS? Can't find a cheap Megadrive? Genecyst. N64? No problems. SNES, you're covered. Basically, with a powerful enough PC you can run an emulator for virtually anything.
If only you could afford a powerful PC - damn!
