Riiiiiiiiiiiidge Racer! The famous franchise hasn’t appeared at all this generation but has been kept alive via mobile games – most recently in 2016.

With Gran Turismo offering a great simulation experience and Driveclub and Motorstorm both disappointingly dead, what better time to revive arcade racing than with a 4K Ridge Racer?

Of course, it could always arrive on other platforms (having appeared on Nintendo systems too), but there’s always room for more arcade racers that put a focus on power-sliding.

The franchise has always offered its own unique charm, too, with unlicensed cars that clearly riff on famous models, laid back soundtrack, and racetracks dotted with famous landmarks that seem to take players all around the world in a single lap.

It might not be the biggest name in arcade racing, but there is no denying that it has a unique appeal.
