12 Video Game Series That Are Crying Out For A Remake, Remaster Or New Entry

4. Syphon Filter

Syphon Filter
Sony

One of Sony’s franchises that didn’t make the jump to PlayStation 4 (or PlayStation 3), Syphon Filter hasn’t been since the PSP and PS2 title Logan’s Shadow.

Originally touted as a Metal Gear alternative, there’s really not a great deal of crossover between the two, besides a lone wolf lead character and the fact that there are guns involved. Syphon Filter is less focused on stealth, instead offering more grounded shooting and spy antics as players step into the combat boots of Gabe Logan.

While Sony Bend has moved onto the divisive Days Gone, Sony’s portfolio is undoubtedly lacking in the shooter department. Could a new Syphon Filter fill that gap, especially with Guerilla seemingly leaving Killzone behind and no sign of SOCOM?

We could see Syphon Filter offering a taut, high-stakes third-person shooter/stealth hybrid along the lines of Ghost Recon, but without all the open-world guff that comes with it.
