12 Video Games That Are Long Overdue Sequels
6. Sleeping Dogs
You know the world is not fair when there is only one Sleeping Dogs game, yet we have five for Saints Row, three for Crackdown, and too many for Assassin's Creed. Sadly, the thought of another Sleeping Dogs game is just pure fantasy fulfilment, because the chances of getting a sequel are slim to none.
Despite its stellar reviews, and selling over 1.5 million copies, the game was considered a failure by Square Enix. As a result, a planned sequel was cancelled before it even went into production, and the studio behind the game was shut in 2016.
Considering Square Enix bought the rights to Sleeping Dogs from Activision, it would be good to see another studio buy them from Square Enix. Microsoft are you listening? Nudge nudge, wink wink. Considering there is a Sleeping Dogs movie in the works, there is surely no better time to get a tie-in game into development.
Japan has the wildly entertaining and successful Yakuza game series, so there's no reason why China and Hong Kong can't have the same with a Sleeping Dogs franchise. It's just screaming to be made.
