Shockingly, not every sports game has an annual entry, which in some ways is refreshing, but not when it comes to the pugilistic excitement of the EA Sports Fight Night series.
Between 2004 and 2009, we got Fight Night Rounds 1 to 4, followed by the surprising final entry Fight Night Champion in 2011. Nine years later, we're still wondering when we'll get another.
Though EA have understandably been focusing their attention on creating the EA Sports UFC series to capitalise on the rise of MMA, there is a clear resurgent interest in boxing. There are few better feelings in gaming than scoring a flash KO against your pal who's trying to pulverise you with haymakers, and being able to do this again with boxing's current heavy hitters would be delightful. Chuck in Michael B. Jordan's Adonis Creed as a playable character and a new Fight Night would be spectacular.
