12 Worst Video Game Movies Of All Time

7. House Of The Dead

Zombies rise in House of the Dead

It's best just to get Boll films out of the way. And while Alone in the Dark is considered to be his worst game-to-film adaptation, House of the Dead did it first, and worse, and somehow roped in Clint Howard for a minute.

It's very, very hard to displease a zombie fan. Give them a few bullets to the brain, a handful of gore and if you're smart enough class up the joint with social commentary. That last part is optional, and Boll opted out. His story, however, wasn't irredeemable, just commonplace: teens are caught in the midst of a zombie outbreak during a race on an island.

It's almost unfathomable how any filmmaker could mess up a premise so simple. It's already unfaithful to the source material, so at least make it fun. But Boll's incompetence is anything but. It's loud, brash and confusing. Worse, just for the fans, he includes gameplay footage inter-spliced in a shoot-out scene, reminding them why they bought the ticket in the first place: To finally finish the game they were playing in the theatre lobby.
