13 Best Moments In 2013's Best Games

1. The Giraffes - The Last Of Us

I love how everyone accused that this game would be Uncharted with zombies, and that when the full game released the naysayers had to eat crow. The Last of Us didn€™t just receive some of the highest marks of all time though; it€™s already at 100+ Game of the Year accolades and counting. In short the game truly was another masterpiece from Naughty Dog. It€™s depiction of an apocalyptic world is a unique one designed to show off nature reclaiming the Earth, a societal collapse that unflinchingly shows how cruel humanity can be, and at the center of it all, one man with nothing to lose smuggling a teenage girl across America. It€™s harrowing, heart-breaking, legitimately hard to even play at times, and at times full of hope and beauty. Best Moment- There is a lot of satisfying combat and stealth against both infected and human, multiple powerful scenes including an ending that leaves you utterly speechless, a quiet and appropriate musical score, and some of the best acting ever seen in gaming, but nothing matches up the giraffe segment. Ellie who has never seen animals in her life, pets a giraffe in an isolated area where nature and animals have reclaimed Earth from man. In a game filled with horror, death, and hopelessness, beauty and serenity is its everlasting and most resonating moment. What were your favorite games and moments of 2013? Comment below!
