13 Bold Gaming Predictions For 2019
8. Shenmue III Is A Colossal Disappointment
This one isn't easy to admit, but there are a lot of reasons to be worried about Shenmue III.
Developed with a budget dwarfed by its almost 20-year-old predecessors, there's every possibility that franchise director Yu Suzuki might've bitten off more than he can chew with this hugely anticipated, belated follow-up.
Everyone wants Shenmue III to be at least good if not great, and both nostalgia and a fondness for the series' signature jank will help it along the way, but even so, the little we've seen of the game in action suggests it could end up too rough-around-the-edges for its own good.
No matter your love for the franchise, it definitely pays to keep your expectations firmly in the middle, because there's a very real possibility that Shenmue III ends up a bit of a dud. If it's good or even better, then it'll be a wonderfully pleasant surprise for fans.
