7. Valve Announces Their Rumoured VR Headset

Though VR hasn't exploded over the last few years as many analysts expected, the space is nevertheless slowly expanding, with PSVR crossing 3 million sales this past summer and firmly bolstering its market share in the process.

But that may all be set to change soon, with recent rumours that Valve is developing their own VR headset to compete with PSVR, HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.

If the leaks are correct, the headset will feature an impressive 135-degree field of view (far above that of the aforementioned headsets), and come bundled with Valve's knuckle prototype controllers and also a Half-Life VR game rumoured to be a prequel.

If the headset is as far along in development as the leaks suggest, then it would make sense for the hardware to be both announced and on the market before the end of 2019. Fingers crossed.
