13 Gaming Heroes Who Sucked Next To Their Own Sidekicks
4. Zidane Tribal (Final Fantasy IX)
While the stars of Final Fantasy IX are Zidane and Garnet/Dagger, it's Vivi that stole the hearts of everybody who played the game. Initially shy and reclusive, Vivi's gradual transformation through the game is full of great moments, and the whole storyline serves as an exploration of the mysteries of life mainly questioning who we are and why we exist. An IGN poll in 2008 named Vivi as the second most popular character in the Final Fantasy series his personal journey undoubtedly a big reason for this popularity. Of course, Vivi is also one of the strongest characters in Final Fantasy IX. As the only Black Mage in the game he's pretty much required to defeat any boss with an elemental weakness, and it also helps that Vivi has the highest Magic stat in the game. He can even aid fellow party member Steiner with Sword Magic, adding elemental damage to the knight's attacks. Sorry Zidane, your thief swords are cool and all, but it's impossible not to get overwhelmingly attached to Vivi.
I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
