13 Hugely Under-Rated 2014 Video Games

9. Pure Pool

Metacritic Score: 67-75 A pool game isn't exactly the most thrilling proposition for most gamers, yet VooFoo Studios delivered an unexpectedly brilliant replication of the pool hall experience with this visually stunning simulation title. Who knew that one of the year's best-looking games would be a) an indie and b) so damn cheap to buy? Even once the novelty of the visuals wears off slightly, it's hard to pull yourself away from this game when the AI is so insanely difficult. Just getting through the Rookie stages is enough of a challenge, but making it past the Pro opponents requires a near-supernatural level of skill that's simply beyond the patience most players will have for a game of this type. Still, it's a thinking man's title that reflects the real game brilliantly, and while many wouldn't ever think to play a game of this kind, it's absolutely worth spending a few pounds on. VooFoo have officially raised the bar for sports sims.
