4. Microsoft Cancels Scalebound

Platinum Games' action RPG Scalebound was first revealed at E3 2014, and though it looked rough around the edges, it was nevertheless one of the more memorable and talked-about upcoming Xbox One exclusives.

At the beginning of the year, though, the game was suddenly cancelled, with the implication being that it wasn't coming along satisfactorily. Nevertheless, it was a major blow for Microsoft's already-tiny exclusive line-up, which is severely lacking in highly-anticipated sequels and compelling new IPs.

Yes, Scalebound clearly had its issues, but considering the time, money and effort that was poured into it, it's a damn shame the project was killed so swiftly rather than re-worked into a better state.
