7. It Was Almost A Rhythm Action Game
Assumedly to make it far easier on newcomers, the original prototypes of Arkham Asylum didn't feature the completely revolutionary combat you know and love today.
Instead, it was way more dependant on you having to hit brightly coloured button prompts in a more scripted fashion, something that would've drastically reduced the enjoyment of the game in hindsight. A second revision involved "coloured circles bashing into each other", before the final version you got at retail - although you can still feel that sense of pounding rhythm when you get a high combo going.
