14 Simple Things That Could Ruin The Biggest Upcoming Video Games

5. Hideo Kojima Has Too Much Freedom - Death Stranding

Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding is one of the most mysterious and talked-about upcoming video games, given the utter lack of clarity fans have about the narrative, characters or even basic gameplay loop almost three years after its initial unveiling.

And though Kojima has certainly won the benefit of the doubt from many, some fans have grown impatient waiting for a comprehensive explanation beyond ambiguous images and whispered rumours about a significant multiplayer component.

It's possible that Death Stranding turns out to be a game too bold and ambitious for its own good, and despite the brilliance of the game's Decima engine (used prior on Horizon Zero Dawn), this could be a rare swing and a miss for the gaming icon.

With Sony reportedly taking a hands-off approach to Death Stranding's development, perhaps it'll prove that Konami, despite their many faults, were actually keeping Kojima on an even keel this whole time.

Without a studio breathing down his neck, Kojima's vision could end up much messier and less finessed than we've ever seen before.
