14 Simple Things That Could Ruin The Biggest Upcoming Video Games
13. It Gets Graphically Downgraded - The Last of Us Part II
Ever since Naughty Dog unveiled the stunning first gameplay footage of The Last of Us Part II, there has been intense discussion about the authenticity of the graphics, namely whether they were simply "target visuals" or an accurate representation of what gamers will actually get to play on current-gen hardware.
Hell, even some in the industry aren't quite convinced, and though Naughty Dog certainly has a rep for delivering cutting edge, gorgeously cinematic visuals, the trailer is impressive enough that a little scepticism is probably reasonable, this being game development and all.
It goes without saying that if Naughty Dog can deliver these visuals on a PS4 Pro without compromise, it'll be an engineering miracle.
But if, after claiming there won't be any downgrades, Naughty Dog offers up an inferior release day package and forces players to wait until the inevitable PS5 re-release to get the full-fat article, many will be understandably irritated.
It won't tank the game in light of its likely rave reviews, but if Naughty Dog pulls a Ubisoft by drastically scaling-back the visuals from its initial reveal, it'll definitely leave a sour taste between the company and their fans.
