14 Simple Things That Could Ruin The Biggest Upcoming Video Games
12. The Open World Is Empty & Dull - Shenmue III
Shenmue III has to be one of the year's biggest question marks, because despite the immense fan anticipation for the belated threequel, it's tough to tell whether it can actually live up to the flawed brilliance of its epic predecessors.
And while fans will absolutely be able to deal with glitches, janky physics, wooden voice acting and rubbish lip sync - they're all hallmarks of the prior games, after all - an empty, barren open world they simply won't abide.
It's no secret that Shenmue III has been produced for a far smaller cost than the previous entries, and there's justifiable fear among some fans that this will translate to a lifeless, small-scale end product that boasts just a fraction of the series' expected interactivity and vibrancy.
If there's any game on this list that fans will go a little easy on out of sheer joy for its mere existence, it's this one. But even so, disappointment will abound if Ryo isn't given a compelling, rich sandbox to run around in.
