14 Things We Learned At The Game Awards 2017

4. Witchfire Is A New Shooter From Ethan Carter & Bulletstorm Devs

Witchfire Game
The Astronauts

The amusingly tongue-in-cheek trailer for the latest game from The Vanishing of Ethan Carter devs The Astronauts began by suggesting that their new title would be another gorgeous walking simulator.

As the protagonist walks through a lush gothic locale, however, they pull a shotgun out at the presence of an enemy, and the trailer informs us the game also comes from the minds behind insane shooters Painkiller and Bulletstorm.

Cue a bunch of frantic footage of the player teleporting around, shooting ghoulish enemies and basically just kicking a**. If the game can be a bonkers shooter without sacrificing Ethan Carter's visual majesty, this could be the best thing the studio's ever done.

No word on a release date or confirmed platforms yet, sadly.
