6. Death Stranding Still Looks Incredibly Weird

The fact that Geoff Keighley and Hideo Kojima are famous best pals made it totally unsurprising that a new Death Stranding trailer dropped during the show, but even for Kojima's loyal fans, did anyone expect something quite this weird?

The eight-minute sequence shows Norman Reedus' protagonist Porter waking up on a seemingly post-apocalyptic Earth, as he and his fellow survivors are being stalked by an invisible entity, which is apparently capable of making people age rapidly.

Elsewhere there's melting bodies, prominent oil imagery, Reedus getting seemingly impregnated with a baby, and a number of giant Cthulu-esque monsters towering over the area.

The trailer ends with Reedus narrating, "Once there was an explosion, a bang that gave rise to Earth as we know it. And then came the next explosion, an explosion that will be our last", seemingly confirming that the game will be about an extinction-level event that Reedus' character must attempt to avert.

Though we still haven't seen a second of actual gameplay, this is clearly set to be one of the most ambitious and unique games of the next few years. Would you expect anything less from Kojima, though?
