15 Best Haunted Houses In Video Games
8. Queen Vanessa's Manor - A Hat In Time
A Hat in Time is a fun colourful game where you get into wacky scenarios like visiting a film set run by birds, joining a parade on the moon, and visiting a town run by a fun version of the mafia. It also contains a world where you sell your soul to a demon.
Now Subcon Forest, the world where this happens mostly just contains the fun Halloween variety level of surface-level spookiness. Yeah, you burn a bunch of souls at one point but who hasn't done that before.
The only genuinely scary part here is Queen Vanessa's Manor a level that isn't like the other haunted houses from non-horror games that are on the rest of this list, this isn't some Big Boo's Haunt, this is genuinely pretty terrifying.
In the mansion, you will be hiding from the monster that is Queen Vanessa as she roams the halls of this huge building. The level adds the ability to hide as she walks two feet away from you causing you shake underneath a table hoping not to get brutally murdered in a game where you felt nothing but pure joy until this point.
