15 Best Moments In The Uncharted Series

1. Greatness From Small Beginnings (Drake's Fortune's Ending)

While Uncharted 4's ending is probably more emotional and the action set-pieces of the second game probably more epic, there's something about the original Uncharted's happy ending and the way it essentially set up the franchise to come that makes it stand out as the greatest Uncharted moment of all time.

With Nate and Elena reconciling and Sully arriving to kick open the treasure he'd managed to secure, you got the feeling that these characters were already becoming something special.

It also helps that the ending has taken on even more resonance with the release of the last game as well, with the photograph from this scene, of Nate, Elena and Sully wielding shotguns and posing for the camera, showing up multiple times during the course of Uncharted 4.

It's a throwaway image but it's a powerful one: three unassumingly charming gaming characters all together, immortalised for years to come at the humble start of what would become one of the most iconic gaming franchises the medium will ever see.

Somebody pass us a tissue, I can't believe it's actually over.
