Fallout 4 was seen as a bit of a disappointment for not being as world-shattering as Fallout 3, but that doesn't mean it isn't a great game in its own right.

Updating the post-apocalyptic retro future the franchise takes place in to be a bit more vibrant and colourful, Fallout 4's version of a ravished Boston was full to bursting with secrets to find, people to kill, and plenty points of interest to investigate.

At the very least, it boasts Bethesda's most varied sandbox. Gone are the days of Oblivion's copied-and-pasted dungeons in favour of unique areas that all boast interesting environmental stories to find.

You can sink hundreds of hours into this ghoulish wasteland, and thankfully it's backed up by improved combat, a great story by Bethesda's standards, and some of the most charming companions this side of Mass Effect.
