12. Assassin's Creed: Odyssey

After a short hiatus, Assassin's Creed roared back to relevancy with Origins, which saw the series embrace proper RPG systems and deliver a game that could live up to its always-stellar settings.

However, that was just the trial run for Odyssey, the Ancient Greek entry in the franchise that managed to be even bigger than its predecessor. It might admittedly take a quantity-over-quality approach when it comes to its capital C Content, but the good stuff is so good that it's easy to forgive some of the repeated quests that are only grinding fodder.

As expected from this franchise though, it's the faithful rendition of Greece that's the star, gorgeously brought to life in a game that's just as satisfying to look at as it is to play.
