15 Best-Selling Video Games Since 2010 - Ranked Worst To Best
7. Halo: Reach (2010, X360) - 9.83 Million
For many, Halo Reach marks the last of the 'good' Halos, simply because it's the last one Bungie would develop before selling their soul to Activision and releasing the empty filing cabinet of a game that was Destiny. No matter though, as what Reach lacked in a solo Master Chief figure, it gained with Noble Team; a collection of Spartans holding the line at the titular planet as the evil Covenant wiped out all who opposed them. We knew going in that the story was going to end with the entire team wiped out - as was described in the fantastic Fall of Reach novel - but the way it played out was by segueing from the final, scripted level, into a proper survival mode, the final stand for humanity going on for as long as you could hold the enemy back. When your helmet hit the ground and the credits finally rolled, it was the perfect way to highlight Master Chief's wider exploits by showing what was happening down on the ground. A really great entry in the Halo mythos, and one that after looking at its figures, really should've sold far more.
