15 Bizarre 'Game Over' Scenes You Weren't Expecting
5. Golden Sun - Screw Your Adventure, I'm Going Home
One unusual gimmick within the Golden Sun series was the option for the game's otherwise silent protagonist to occasionally answer questions. These were nothing more than basic Yes/No relies, and beyond altering how certain characters would respond initially, otherwise had no impact upon the game. Save for one very important choice, which proved to be a surprise for many players who had been happily clicking away with no consequences. Within the first few hours of playing, the main objectives of the villains Saturos and Menardi are unveiled: They plan to te-ignite the various elemental lighthouses and unleash a force which once threatened to shatter the world. Were this not enough reason to hate them, they also kidnap several childhood friends and are revealed to have indirectly caused the deaths of the characters' parents. With no one else capable of following the player, Issac, is tasked with hunting them down. The game then gives you the same Yes/No option as many previous times. Refusing will allow Issac to ignore the plight of his world and walk out of the room, only for this message to pop up: "And so the world began drifting towards its fated destruction..." You are then given the option to start over entirely, or choose again.
