The Prediction: Rockstar's western sequel won't continue the story of John or Jack Marston but instead focus on a completely new cast of characters and setting.

Why It Will Happen: Rockstar tends to favour fresh beginnings when it comes to their direct sequels, so history seems to side with them starting anew here, especially as a prequel starring John Marston would place limitations on them creatively, and some would argue that Jack's own redemption story was neatly tied up in the previous game's epilogue.

Why It Might Not: With the evident player affection for both John and Jack, one couldn't blame Rockstar for deciding that one of them deserved another go-around, and the idea of playing as an older Jack in particular would be extremely appealing to many players.
