My word, has there ever been such a beautiful puzzle game? I know, The Witness doesn't exactly have the stiffest of competition when it comes to winning on visuals alone in regards to what genre it belongs to, but still - it's just hypnotic in its attractiveness.

Which is a pretty good thing, because you will spend hours upon hours in its world, tinkering with the hundreds of deceptively complex 'line tracing' puzzles in an effort enter the mountain dominating the middle of the island.

Sure, The Witness may come off as a little self-indulgent at times with its narrative, but don't let that put you off for even a second - the way in which Jonathan Blow's mysterious world effortlessly teaches you to teach yourself is wonderful.

Do yourself a favour and skip the guides and walkthroughs for this one. You'll be glad you did.
