15 Greatest Resident Evil Moments Ever
11. Brad's Death - Resident Evil 3 (1999)
How would this have been so difficult to work into the remake, Capcom?!
It would have still kept in favour with Brad's redemptive arc for legging it in the first time, as he accompanies Jill to the RPD. Alright, they changed the narrative so Jill doesn't go there, but they still could have worked this death in at one of the other locations. Sigh...
Instead, let's remember Brad going out in a nastier manner that stays in the mind for twenty one years.
It's hard to pinpoint the grossest bit: the hollowing of the head, or the spasmodic twitching brought on by it. Either way, it's a nasty bit of indirect body horror that the series had dabbled with prior to this.
But this, this was nasty.
Which is why it's such a great moment: it introduced the Nemesis, and the fear that he brought with him. This fleshy terminator was seeing S.T.A.R.S, with Jill being next.
It was a step up from Tyrants. They lurked, Nemesis pursued.
