12. ARMA 2 - 29th June, 2009
Much like Company of Heroes, ARMA 2 captures the brutality of war but from the soldiers perspective. Considered the most strategically challenging First-Person Shooter, ARMA is almost a mix between the two genres. It makes for a very interesting and absorbing game, with the perfect balance of intrigue and enjoyableness. Despite this description, 'First-Person Shooter' may not be the most adequate term to describe ARMA 2. Combat simulator may more suitable. It aims to be as realistic as possible, with an astounding attention to detail. However, the detail does hold back the graphics and performance of the game a small amount, but not so much that it cant be fixed with a mod or two. Overall, the game is a must have if youre a shooter lover whos looking for a new big challenge. What the critics say: Gamespot: 8/10 IGN: 7.8/10 Steam User Reviews: Very Positive (86% Positive) Metacritic: 8/10
