15 Insanely Underrated PS4 & Xbox One Games You Must Play

11. Quantum Break

Quantum Break was always going to be a risky move. Conceived at the time Microsoft were charging full speed ahead on their vision of an Xbox One being just as closely linked to television as it was with games, Remedy's latest shooter attempted to blend the two mediums together on one disc.

Featuring a mixture of live-action cutscenes and regular third-person shooting, Quantum Break was criticised for having a bit of an identity crisis. And while that's true to an extent, it doesn't detract from Remedy's Xbox One exclusive being a thoroughly great time in its own right.

Moving from set-piece to set-piece by shooting goons with your myriad of time-bending powers, the title's gameplay feels as smooth as you'd expect from the guys who practically invented bullet-time with Max Payne almost twenty years ago.

And it's these time-bending mechanics, present both in the gameplay sections and driving the narrative in the live-action segments, that set Quantum Break apart from other recent third-person shooters.

Sure, it's nothing particularly new, but when it's pulled of this well, it doesn't have to be.
