15 Most Criminally Underrated Video Game Franchises Of All Time

11. Syphon Filter

Where to start? Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow.

The only game to make shooting 'work' on the original one-analogue stick PSP, Logan's Shadow was an exemplary title from a franchise forever living in Metal Gear Solid's shadow.

Thing is, Syphon Filter was never anything like MGS, its gameplay being far more routed in run n' gunning your way through levels, dispatching scores of goons with some solid-feeling lock-on targeting.

Metal Gear comparisons seemed to come from the game's Clancy-esque 'gruff-voiced-secret-agent-attempts-to-save-the-world' setup, but retrospectively, those comparisons are clearly surface level, and Syphon Filter always had much, much more to offer.
