6. Moving & Controlling Octodad's Limbs - Octodad: Dadliest Catch
The Challenge: The entire difficulty of Octodad comes by way of the game's bizarre control scheme, whereby players control the title character's limbs as he clumsily makes his way through the world. Intentionally sloppy, fiddly and unresponsive, who needs to craft ingenious bosses when you can just gimp the controls for the sake of a joke? Why It's So Difficult: The intricate nature of getting Octodad to move how you want him to makes Octodad at once a hilarious and incredibly frustrating experience. Getting him to pick up and interact with objects is another can of worms altogether, and so it makes sense that the game's objectives are generally incredibly simple (to a human), but are made infinitely more difficult by the keyboard-smashingly awkward control scheme. It's certainly a unique way to challenge the player, even though it's definitely not going to be for everyone.
