6. Evolve

Another for the "Remember this?" pile, Evolve dropped like a pebble into the sea of shooters that make up our console offerings, and despite being made by the talented chaps over at Turtle Rock (of Left 4 Dead fame), it was immediately apparently that there just wasn't enough content here to sustain a decent player base.

A handful of maps, no campaign and a mantra straight from the devs that the game was "built from the ground up with DLC in mind" couldn't of put people off more if it was emblazoned with "bonus Kinect functionality!" on the side.

As a result, Evolve tanked for consecutive months until the devs eventually uprooted everything and re-released it as a free-to-play shooter, attempting to regain some of their lost funds by segmenting content and begging people to at least give it a chance.
