If you’ve never played a Phoenix Wright game, stop for a moment and re-evaluate your life. You are genuinely missing out on one of the greatest gaming series ever created. Phoenix Wright is a series about the law, and laying it down. He’s a defense attorney, and in each game, you’ll usually find yourself going about your business, before being dragged in to some madcap, over the top, darkly comedic murder plot.

You have to scour the crime scene, picking up every bit of evidence that you can find, and assemble a case to take on a devilishly charismatic prosecutor. Spirit Of Justice shakes it up, with a new setting, new laws to abide by and new, supernatural ways of discerning the killer.

I would struggle to find a character that wasn’t memorable in SOJ, making each and every case fun and unique, whilst also contributing to an over-arcing story. Particular stand-outs include trainee magician Bonny De Famme, and prosecutor Nahyuta Sahdmadhi.

Whilst the original trilogy had plenty of fans, the games afterwards weren’t quite as popular. When Apollo Justice released, a good few people lost interest in the series. Digital only releases haven’t helped much either. Spirit Of Justice is the most fun I’ve had with the series in a very long time, and I couldn’t recommend it strongly enough.
