15 Most Underrated Video Games Of The Decade (So Far)

13. Alpha Protocol

Sadly, developer Obsidian aren't known for wrapping up their packages as tightly as those receiving them would like, and thus with Alpha Protocol they had a spectacular idea - make a Mass Effect-style RPG set in a world of super-spies - only to fluff the execution with a huge amount of animation glitches and gameplay bugs.

Some gamers can see past that stuff though - y'know, the types who don't need a steady breakfast of 60fps to get out of bed in the morning? - and for those it was the concept alone that far outshone the other potential flaws.

The night vision-wearing devil was in the details, as you could choose to be everything from a womanising Bond-style secret agent to a melee-focussed bone-breaker like Bourne, a string of stat-screens managing how effective abilities from weapon use to melee attacks would be out in the field.

Throw in your own secret base, a brilliantly memorable Nolan North performance in the playfully-maniacal Steven Heck and some really fantastic level design, and this now-budget title is well worth picking up.
