15 Most Underrated Video Games Of The Decade (So Far)

9. Mass Effect 3

It's hard to mention the words 'Mass', 'Effect' and '3' in the same sentence without a weaponised torches n' pitchforks brigade of protestors sprouting out the ground to tear you to shreds, but although yes 'that ending' becomes a bigger travesty the more you read behind the scenes, there's still plenty worth celebrating - with one massive condition...

Now this is a massive, universe-sized caveat; the only reason ME3 is on this list, is if you take its feature-complete, DLC-injected version as the final product.

The version at launch was a mess of bugs, graphical downgrades and underdeveloped plot elements, but the Mass Effect 3 of today is available with a better ending, missions that explain who and what the Star Child was from the beginning and the Walking Plot Device himself Javik - a Prothean alien who ties the entire trilogy together with every single word along the way.

ME3 is a DLC-themed island many got marooned on in an otherwise clear sea of a game, but it's one worth revisiting providing you can take (and pay for) the right approach.
