15 New Video Game Heroes - Ranked From Worst To Best
11. Marcus Holloway (Watch Dogs 2)
Watch Dogs 2 is one of the finest examples of a developer cracking after being constantly berated by the public.
"Okay, okay, alright, we're sorry. We'll get it right this time!"
As such, everything in WD2 is a fix from the original: The combat is FAR more in-depth, the tone is way less dire and actually embraces the sheer fun inherent in a city where literally everything is remote control, and new hero Marcus is the centre cog that turns all these things on a dime.
Playing as Holloway encourages you to bust out his laptop and fly an explosive-dropping drone into an enemy base. It makes you want to hang out with your in-game friends, do side missions, save the city and chill atop the San Francisco Observatory to watch the sunset.
Like Vice City and San Andreas, Watch Dogs 2 is an immaculate open-world game with a character that actively makes you want to see everything on offer - something even GTA V couldn't get right.
