15 Video Games Everyone Expected To See At E3 2018
10. Final Fantasy VII Remake
If you needed any more conclusive proof that Square Enix overzealously announced Final Fantasy VII Remake far too early - a bad habit of theirs, clearly - look no further than the game's infuriating non-presence at this year's E3.
Fans are understandably getting a little anxious about the remake's development after it was first revealed three years ago, and earlier this year it was claimed that development was effectively restarted in 2017 after Square Enix scrapped two years of work by original dev Cyberconnect 2.
IGN grilled the game's director, Tetsuya Nomura, during E3, and he assured fans the game was "not just in the early concept stages", though didn't elaborate beyond that.
The best thing fans can do at this point is put the game to the backs of their minds and be pleasantly surprised when it's finally "re-introduced" at E3 2020 for a 2021 release. That's for the first of three planned episodes, anyway.
