Over from the portable realm to the big-daddy console domain, and a game that almost everyone has at least played once - thanks to it being one of the only decent things available at launch for the PS4. However although it does make a very slick impression thanks to some jaw-dropping particle physics and tight shooter gameplay, it's not until you really spend some time with it that you'll tap into a rich gameplay loop comprised of nabbing stray humans from across the map whilst tackling neon-dossed bosses that increase in size and complicity through every level. It may not have a huge amount of depth when it comes to combat, but the best in this genre never need to when the designers double down on creating situations where honing your skills and reaction times separates kings from paupers. The PS4 is still starved of a console-selling killer app, but hidden gem titles like Resogun have just the right amount of charm to sprout an ear-to-ear grin regardless.
