10. The Real Reason For The Famicom/SNES Eject Buttons
This is just straight-up awesome, and something that'll always make cartridges cooler than CDs.
When designing the Famicom in Japan (and the SNES in the West), Masayuki Uemura thought even the idea of finishing your game session could be enjoyable, hence rather than the common misconception that you had to eject the cartridges a certain way to avoid damage, it was actually just to provide one last laugh before turning the console off.
We're forever terrified of handling discs the same way, but cartridges? They could be launched into the air and caught (almost) with their cases. Endless fun!
